Human-Computer Interaction
Project Name: The Relationship
Visual Summary
Project Description
An expressive and delightful web-based video conferencing app for my 8-month-old client to talk to his grandparents during Covid.
My Client
The interaction challenge here was to create an interface that was asymmetrical. The grandparents who are tech savvy were interacting with a baby. This meant that there would need to be strong visual cues for Rhys and simple yet fun interaction.
Interaction Design
Speech recognition for 8 different animal noises that Oma/Opa can make and add to the blocks. Until Rhys is given permission the display looks "boring" and meant for Rhys to not engage and wave his hand.
Design Rationale
Because Rhys likes knocking over blocks but not making a tower, I decided to engage both parties with a task. Oma & Opa would build a tower using different animals by making animal noises and Rhys would destroy it by waving his hand.
